Adele Biscaretti

ADELE BISCARETTI nasce a Torino. Diplomata in grafica e pubblicità all’Istituto Europeo di Design, dopo varie esperienze nel mondo della grafica e dell’advertising, si avvicina alla tecnica giapponese degli origami ed è colpo di fulmine. La passione per questa antica arte diventa totalizzante e nel 2009 nasce la linea Minikami. Gioielli origami che sono pezzi unici, piegati a mano in edizioni limitate. In parallelo al gioiello contemporaneo Adele declina l’origami negli ambiti più svariati: specchi, installazioni, lampade, oggetti di design. Oltre dieci anni di pieghe e ricerca appassionata per l’origami portano Adele verso un percorso creativo per sottrazione: da soggetti figurativi, all’astratto, fino a trascendere la tecnica per arrivare all’essenza della materia: la carta.
Da questo percorso nasce la linea Sō che in giapponese significa 'strato'. Il progetto realizzato in cartone doppia onda gioca con sovrapposizione, volume e forma della materia. Considerato un materiale povero, utilizzato per imballare e proteggere altri oggetti, il cartone in questo progetto diventa protagonista.
Le caratteristiche della materia vengono espresse in tutto il loro potenziale. Il cartone muta dalla linea alla curva, dalla retta alla sfera per trasfigurare da strato in opera. Sculture sospese, tavoli dalle forme sinuose, sculture che racchiudono vasi. La semplicità della materia porta l’attenzione altrove valorizzando l’intuizione e l’armonia delle forme; ed ecco che il cartone da mezzo diventa fine.

ADELE BISCARETTI was born in Turin. She graduated in graphics and advertising at the European Institute of Design, after various experiences in the world of graphics and advertising, she approaches the Japanese technique of origami and she is love at first sight. The passion for this ancient art became all-encompassing and in 2009 the Minikami line was born. Origami jewels that are unique pieces, hand-folded in limited editions. In parallel to the contemporary jewel Adele declines origami in the most varied fields: mirrors, installations, lamps, design objects. Over ten years of folds and passionate research for origami lead Adele towards a creative path by subtraction: from figurative subjects, to the abstract, up to transcending the technique to arrive at the essence of the material: paper.
From this path the Sō line was born, which in Japanese means 'layer'. The project made in double wave cardboard plays with the overlapping, volume and shape of the material. Considered a poor material, used to pack and protect other objects, cardboard takes center stage in this project.
The characteristics of matter are expressed in all their potential. The cardboard changes from line to curve, from straight line to sphere to transfigure from layer to work. Suspended sculptures, tables with sinuous shapes, sculptures that enclose vases. The simplicity of the material takes the attention elsewhere, enhancing the intuition and harmony of the forms; and here the middle cardboard becomes fine.
