Separate paper and board collection in Italy keeps growing. Comieco estimates that in 2006 a total of 2.5 million tons were collected, with an increase of about 175thousand tons (+7.4%).
Separate collection grew by 6.7% in the North, 4.7% in the Centre, and 14.7% in the South, but in absolute terms this means that the southern regions collect just more than two-thirds of the quantities collected by those in the Centre, with half of the inhabitants, and still have to work hard to fill the gap with the results of the northern ones.
